Size
When using the recommended hook size, yarn, the yarn under method (x stitch), Bubbles measures 5.25 inches/13 centimeters.
Materials
Materials needed to create the toy in order to replicate my toy:
- Crochet hook size: 3 mm hook
- Yarn used: Scheepjes Stonewashed (Color A- Crystal Quartz, Color B- Moonstone, Color C- Rose Quartz, Color D- Tourmaline)
- Scraps of black yarn (I used cotton yarn)
- 12 mm safety eyes
- 12 mm joints (optional)
- Stuffing
- Darning needle
- Stitch marker (optional)

Face
Use Color B- Moonstone.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]

Insert safety eyes on the face between round 4 & 5 under the first dc inc for the first eye and the 2nd dc inc for the second eye. Don’t put the backs on, the backs will be secured on when you make the head.

Head
Use Color A- Crystal Quartz. Stuff as you go.

Body

Rounds 19-21: 24 sc. [24]
You will now add the arms:
- Insert joint between rounds 16 and 17 on either side of the body or sew
between rounds 20 and 21.
- There should be 10 visible stitches in between each arm.
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Ears (Make 2)
Use Colors A and B.
Make 2 in Color B- Moonstone first.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: Inc x 6. [12]
Round 3: (Sc, inc) x 6. [18]
Round 4: Sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, sc. [24]
FO and weave in end (Color B only).
Repeat round 1-4 with Color A- Crystal Quartz.
Round 5: Join the wrong side of the ear you made in Color B with Color A. Sc around through both layers. [24]
Hide the ends when you get close to the end of the round.
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Tail
Use Color A- Crystal Quartz.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: (2 sc, inc) x 2. [8]
Round 3-30: 8 sc. [8] (28 rounds)
Insert pipe cleaner into tail (fold pipe cleaner in half).
Round 31: Flatten and 3 sc across.
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Headband
Use Color C- Rose Quartz.
Row 1: Ch 50, starting in the second ch from the hook, 48 hdc. [48]
FO and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the edges of the headband together.
Flower
Using Color D- Tourmaline, make 1.
Round 1: Ch 6, sl st to first ch, (ch 6, sl st into where
you made your first sl st) x 3.
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Belly Patch
Use Color B- Moonstone
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: Hdc inc, sc inc, (hdc inc ) x 2, sc inc, hdc inc. [12]
Round 3: Hdc, hdc inc, sc, sc inc, (hdc, hdc inc) x 2, sc, sc inc,
hdc, hdc inc. [18]
Round 4: 2 hdc, hdc inc, 2 sc, sc inc, (2 hdc, hdc inc) x 2, 2 sc,
sc inc, 2 hdc, hdc inc. [24]
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Skirt
Using Colors C and D, make 1.
Band: Use Color C- Rose Quartz.
Row 1: Leave a long starting tail. Ch 5, starting in the 3rd
ch from hook, 3 dc, ch 2 and turn. [3]
Rows 2-20: BLO, 3 dc, ch 2 and turn. [3] (19 rows
Row 21: BLO, 3 dc (change to Color D), ch 2. [3] FO Color C.
We will work on top of the band.
Switch to Color D- Tourmaline.
The ch 2 doesn’t count as a stitch. Work in joined rounds.
Round 1: 30 dc on the top of the band (picture 23), join with a sl st (picture 24) to
first dc you made, ch 2. [30]
Round 2: (2 dc, dc inc, 2 dc) x 6, join and ch 2. [36]
Round 3: (3 dc, dc inc) x 9, join and ch 2. [45]
Round 4: (2 dc, dc inc, 2 dc) x 9, join. [54]
FO and weave in end.
Using the long end you left from the band, weave it to the top of the band. You are going to make a hole for the tail now. Pull up a loop (picture 25), ch 4 sl st to the other side of the band.
FO and weave in ends.
Assembly
1. Sew the belly patch between rounds 9 and 19.
2. Sew the tail to the back of the body between rounds 9 and 12.
3. Sew the head to the body.
4. Sew the ears to the side of the head between rounds 11 and 14, with approximately 3 visible stitches from the face.
5. Sew the flower to the headband.
6. Place the skirt and headband on your monkey.
