
Cute Little Bird Keychain Pattern – Free Pattern

Materials:
- Ricorumi Cotton DK from Universal Yarn:
- Clay
- Vanilla
- Saffron
- 2.5 mm hook
- Polyfill stuffing
- Brown embroidery thread
Some of the skills used in this pattern are chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increase, decrease, and finish off.
When using the recommended hook size, yarn and yarn under (x stitch), it measures 2 inches/5 centimeters.
Body
Stuff as you go.
Start with Clay.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: (inc) x 6. [12]
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6. [18]
Round 4: 18 sc. [18]
Using the tail from the magic ring, sew your keychain on. (picture 1)
Round 5: sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, sc. [24]
Round 6: (3 sc, inc) x 6. [30]
Round 7: 30 sc. [30]
Change to Vanilla.
Rounds 8-12: 30 sc. [30] (5 rounds)
Change to Saffron.
Rounds 13-16: 30 sc. [30]
Round 17: 2 sc (adjust as needed to get to the center of the body), ch 3, starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, 2 sc, sl st in the same st as your ch 3, 28 sc. [32]
Round 18: 2 sc, 2 sc going up the ch, 2 sc down the other side of the ch (skip the slip st), (3 sc, dec) x 5, 3 sc. [29]
Round 19: (3 sc, dec) x 5, 4 sc. [24]
Round 20: sc, dec, (2 sc, dec) x 5, sc. [18]
Round 21: (sc, dec) x 6. [12]
Round 22: (dec) x 6. [6]
Cut yarn and weave end through the remaining front loops. Pull to close and weave in end.
Wings
Use Clay, make 2.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Cut yarn and leave a long tail to sew. Sew arms to either side of the body (the tail should be center back) between rounds 12 and 13, at the last color change – approximately 3 st from the tail.
Embroidery
– Use brown embroidery thread:
– Embroider 2 eyes between rounds 9/10 with 4 visible stitches in between.
– Embroider a nose over round 11 in an upside down triangle.
– Embroider 2 feet at the bottom of the body between rounds 18/19.
