
Envelope and Letter – Free Pattern
Did you hear about the notes being passed around in the school? Well, this envelope and letter have the sweetest note to spread joy to everyone that reads it.
Size
When using the recommended hook size, yarn, the yarn under method (x stitch), the envelope measures 2.25 inches/5.7 centimeters.
Materials
Materials needed to create the toy in order to replicate my toy:
- Crochet hook size: 5 mm hook
- Yarn used: Bulky Weight Chenille Yarn- Weight 5- (Light Blue and Cream)
- Stuffing
- Darning needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
- Button
Envelope
Use Ivory. Leave a long starting tail for sewing at the end.
Row 1: Ch 11, starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, 10 sc,
ch 1 and turn. [10]
Rows 2-20: 10 sc, ch 1 and turn. [10] (19 rows)
Row 21: dec, 6 sc, dec, ch 1 and turn. [8]
Row 22: 8 sc, ch 1 and turn. [8]
Row 23: dec, 4 sc, dec, ch 1 and turn. [6]
Row 24: dec, 2 sc, dec, ch 1 and turn. [4]
Row 25: (dec) x 2, ch 1 and turn. [2]
Row 26: dec. [1]
Row 27: single crochet around the edge of the envelope with an inc in each of the bottom two corners. When you get to the last stitch at the top, ch 6 and sl st back into the same st.
FO and weave in end.
Fold the first 20 rows in half and sew along the two edges.
Sew a button on your envelope.
Letter
Use Light Blue
Row 1: Ch 7, 6 sc, ch 1 and turn. [6]
Rows 2-6: 6 sc, ch 1 and turn. [6] (6 rows)
Row 7: sc around the edge of the letter with an increase in each of the 4 corners.
Cut yarn and weave in ends. Put your letter in the envelope.
