Size
When using the recommended hook size, yarn, the yarn under method (x stitch), Lark measures 8 inches/20.31 centimeters.
Materials
Materials needed to create the toy in order to replicate my toy:
- Crochet hook size: 5.5 mm hook
- Yarn used: Premier Parfait Chunky (Cream, Yellow, Tangerine)
- 10.5 mm safety eyes
- Stuffing
- Darning needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
Abbreviations
- MR – magic ring
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc- half double crochet
- dc- double crochet
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- FLO – front loop only
- BLO- back loop only
- (…) – Repeat the instruction inside these brackets the given number of times.

Face Patch
Use Cream.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: (inc) x 6. [12]
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6. [18]
Round 4: sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, sc. [24]
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. [30]
Round 6: 8 sc, hdc, dc inc, tr inc, dc inc, hdc, sl st, hdc, dc inc, tr inc, dc inc, hdc, 11 sc. [36]
Insert safety eyes between rounds 2 and 3 under the first dc inc for the first eye and the second dc inc for the second eye. Don’t put the backs on yet if you are using cotton or acrylic yarn. The backs will be secured on when you make the head. If using chenille yarn, place the backs on now.
Cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.
Head
Use Yellow. Stuff as you go.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: (inc) x 6. [12]
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6. [18]
Round 4: sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, sc. [24]
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. [30]
Round 6: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc. [36]
Round 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6. [42]
Round 8: 3 sc, inc, (6 sc, inc) x 5, 3 sc. [48]
Rounds 9-18: 48 sc. [48] (10 rounds)
Secure the eyes between rounds 11 and 12 on the head, going through both the face patch and head. Sew on head. If you are using chenille yarn, you’ll sew the face patch on at the end.
Round 19: 3 sc, inc, (6 sc, dec) x 5, 3 sc. [40]
Round 20: (5 sc, dec) x 6. [36]
Round 21: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) x 5, 2 sc. [30]
Round 22: (3 sc, dec) x 6. [24]
Don’t cut yarn. Continue onto the body.
Body
Continue in Yellow. Stuff as you go.
Round 23: FLO, 24 sc. [24]
Round 24: 24 sc. [24]
Round 25: (3 sc, inc) x 6. [30]
Rounds 26-27: 30 sc. [30] (2 rounds)
Round 28: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc. [36]
Rounds 29-31: 36 sc. [36] (3 rounds)

Use Yellow.
The wings are not stuffed

Round 5: Flatten the wing and working through both layers- 3 dc in the first st, sk st, sc, 3 dc in the next st, sk st, sc, sk st, 3 dc in the next st, sl st in the last st. [12]
Cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.
Feet (Make 2)
Use Tangerine.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. [6]
Round 2: (sc, inc) x 3. [9]
Rounds 3-5: 9 sc. [9] (3 rounds)
Round 6: (sc, dec) x 3. [6]
Round 7: Flatten and work 3 sc across going through both layers.
Cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.
Ears (Make 2)
Use Yellow.
Stuff lightly.
Round 1: 5 sc in MR. [5]
Round 2: sc, inc, 3 sc. [6]
Round 3: inc, 5 sc. [7]
Round 4: 7 sc. [7]
Cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.
Assembly
1. Sew the face patch between rounds 8 and 19.
2. Sew the wings between rounds 25 and 28 (only sewing the inside part of the wings).
3. Sew the ears between rounds 4 and 6.
4. Sew the feet to the bottom of the body.
5. Using Tangerine, embroider a nose (upside down triangle) over round 1 of the face patch.
