
Witch – Free Pattern

Size
When using the recommended hook size, yarn, the yarn under method (x stitch), the witch (without the hat) measures 7 inches/17.78 centimeters and 10 inches/25.4 centimeters with the hat.
Materials
Materials needed to create the toy in order to replicate my toy:
- Crochet hook size: 5.5 mm hook
- Yarn used: Premier Parfait Chunky (Black, Mushroom, Teddy Bear, Key Lime and Tangerine)
- 18 mm safety eyes
- Stuffing
- Darning needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
Abbreviations
- MR – magic ring
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc- half double crochet
- dc- double crochet
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- FLO – front loop only
- BLO- back loop only

Head and Body
Start with Mushroom. Stuff as you go.
Rnd 1: working in a magic ring, make 6 sc. [6 sts]
Rnd 2: (inc) x 6. [12 sts]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6. [18 sts]
Rnd 4: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, 1 sc. [24 sts]
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. [30 sts]
Rnd 6: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc. [36 sts]
Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6. [42 sts]
Rnds 8-15: 42 sc. [42 sts] 8 rounds
Rnd 16: (5 sc, dec) x 6. [36 sts]
Rnd 17: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) x 5, 2 sc. [30 sts]

Fasten off Mushroom and change to Black

Insert eyes between rnds 11 and 12 with 5 visible sts in between. Embroider a nose with Mushroom between rounds 12 and 13.
Rnds 21-27: 36 sc. [36 sts] 7 rounds
Don’t fasten off Black. Change to Tangerine.
Rnd 28: 36 sl st. [36 sts]
Rnd 29: Working in the BLO, 36 sc. [36 sts]
Fasten off Tangerine. Change back to Black.
Rnd 30: 36 sl st. [36 sts]
Rnd 31: Working in the BLO, 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) x 5, 2 sc. [30 sts]
Rnd 32: (3 sc, dec) x 6. [24 sts]
Rnd 33: 1 sc, dec, (2 sc, dec) x 5, 1 sc. [18 sts]
Rnd 34: (1 sc, dec) x 6. [12 sts]
Rnd 35: (dec) x 6. [6 sts]
Fasten off and cut yarn. Weave in ends (through the remaining front loops. Pull tight to close.
Arm (Make 2)
Start with Mushroom. The arms are not stuffed
Rnd 1: working in a magic ring, make 6 sc. [6 sts]
Rnd 2: (2 sc, inc) x 2. [8 sts]
Rnd 3: 8 sc. [8 sts]
Fasten off Mushroom. Change to Black.
Rnds 4-7: 8 sc. [8 sts] 4 rounds
Rnd 8: Flatten and make 4 sc going through both layers. [4 sts]
Fasten off and cut yarn. Leave a tail for sewing.
Hair Cap
Use Teddy Bear.
Rnd 1: working in a magic ring, make 6 sc. [6 sts]
Rnd 2: (inc) x 6. [12 sts]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6. [18 sts]
Rnd 4: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, 1 sc. [24 sts]

Rnd 6: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc. [36 sts]
Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6. [42 sts]
Rnd 8: (13 sc, inc) x 3. [45 sts]
Rnds 9-14: 45 sc. [45 sts] 6 rounds
Rnd 15: 3 sc, (ch 15, starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, 14 sc, sl st in next st) x 4, 3 sc, 3 hdc, 4 dc, sl st, 8 dc, 8 hdc, 11 sc, sl st to first st.
Fasten off and cut yarn. Leave a tail for sewing.
Using scraps of key lime yarn, chain 6 (adjust as needed) and tie around the ponytail with a sl st. Tie the two yarn tails in a bow.
Hat
Use Black.
